Kunja Villas & Spa Seminyak
I came across this little gem in Bali while I was looking for something special to celebrate our recent engagement. I fell in love with the Kunja as soon as I seen the photos and we were not disappointed!
It began on arrival into Denpasar Airport where a staff member from the Kunja met us in the arrival hall and popped us into a waiting car to take us directly to the villas. Check in is completed in your villa and they give you a quick tour to show you where everything is. When the opened the door to our private complex we were both blown away. The complex is massive and it houses one of the biggest plunge pools I have ever seen. Everything is open air and beautifully furnished and clean. The bedroom is accessed from the living area, and it can be closed off completely to keep the mozzies out at night. The bathroom is off to the side which is open and airy and large, with a beautiful big bath overlooking the pool.
One of the things I loved most about these villas was the staff. They could not do enough for you. Included in your room rate is a fully cooked breakfast which is prepared by a staff member who comes to your villa and cooks it in front of you in your kitchen, and then cleans everything up afterwards. All you have to do is specify the time you would like breakfast the day before! They also provide a complimentary afternoon selection anyime between 2 & 5 pm each day should you wish to have it.
They don’t have a restaurant on site, however each villas has a folder containting menus from all of the best local restaurants. You can then call reception and give them your chosen order and they will pick it up for you and deliver and serve it in your villa.
The Kunja Villa is located approximately 500m walk from the beach and a 2 minute drive into Seminyak Square. There are 18 villas in total, consisting mostly of 1 bedroom’s and then a few 3 bedroom villas. The pools are very spacious and they have a wet sunning area as well if it’s too warm to be on the sun lounge! The 3 bedroom villas have 4 bathrooms (one for each bedroom plus a common powder room) so plenty of room if you have a large group travelling together. It was a very quiet area, we never heard any noise from adjoining villas, nor any traffic noise from the outside. Very peaceful!
They provide a free on demand transfer service to anywhere between the villa and Kuta. The most we paid in a taxi to get back from Kuta was 60k rupiah so approximately $6, and it took about 20-30 minutes.
I would highly recommend this villa to couples or honeymooners looking for a relaxing and pampered getaway, as well as families or large groups travelling together.
