Eating your way around Seminyak

The first time I travelled to Bali, I must admit we didn't get out much. We had a beautiful villa in Seminyak and we were there celebrating our engagement for 6 days. I still loved it, but didn't get out and experience it as much as I should've! Just recently my husband and I travelled back with some friends and oh my did we have a different experience! We stayed in Seminyak once again and never in the world did I imagine how much I could enjoy the food they have on offer. After heeding some recommendations from locals and friends we compiled a lsit of the 'must try' restaurants on offer around Seminyak and they were all incredible! Here's a list of my favourites:

Motel Mexicola - This was my favourite by far, it's massive semi-open air restaurant with such a fantastic atmosphere. Authentically mexican and reasonably priced. The first time we visited (yes we went twice!) we left it to our waiter to recommend what we should have. He recommended the 'Feed Me' banquet so we could have a sample of almost everything and it was all incredible! They also have a great cocktail selection with lots of tequila and sangria. Must visit!!

Sisterfields - This is a fantastic cafe located near Seminyak Square. A favourite catch up spot for local aussies and foodies, Sisterfields represents the iconic cafe culture of Australia, bringing a love of great food and coffee to Seminyak. They do an all day breakfast menu, brunch and lunch menu alongside a wide range of coffees, cakes and patries, all baked fresh from scratch every day! So good!

Sea Circus - This is not an actual circus and it's also not on the sea. It's kind of near the beach, ok so Sea Circus is kind of an odd name, but it's a really cool restaurant, cocktail bar and coffee den and it's a must visit! They are owned by an Austraian and they serve breakfast, lunch & dinner, great cocktails and amazing coffee! Seafood, tacos, salads & burgers are on the menu for lunch & dinner as well as a dedicated 'Hangover Happy Meals' for breakfast (need I say any more!)

La Plancha - Located on the beach between Jl. Dhayanapura and 66 Road, La Plancha is a vibrant Spanish Beach Bar and restaurant, named after a traditional Spanish way of cooking. 'La Plancha' traditional, simple, unpretentious, fresh Spanish food and comfortable, colourful beanbags under cute umbrellas. Enjoy a drink and watch the amazing sunset over Seminyak Beach and stay into the evening listenig to live entertainment. Bliss!

Double Six Rooftop - As it's name suggests, the Double Six Rooftop sits above the Double Six Hotel, 15 meters above sea level, with stunning views over Seminyak's Double Six Beach. Covering 1700 square metres, it is one of the world's largest rooftop bars. Guests can enjoy locally inspired cocktails while listening to international entertainment acts and relax in 'floating' pods or private areas with amazing views out to sea. Bookings are essential, especially if you want to book one of the private booths on the sunset side of the building!

Seminyak Italian Food - Located at the Double Six Hotel, this incredible restaurant has one of the most extensive menu's I have ever seen. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with a big Italian influence, but also offering favourites from all over the world. Somthing for the whole family, with stunning views over Semiyak beach!

Boss Man Burgers - In the heart of Seminyak, Boss Man has taken burgers to a whole new level, perfecting 6 signature burgers with the very best ingredients. They are open 17 hours a day (yep they are open til 4am!) 7 days a week offering dine in and take away options as well as delivering free of charge to the Seminyak area. Perfect for those staying in local villas and not wanting to leave the pool!

Mozzarella Restaurant Bali - There are five of these incredible little restaurants for you to enjoy, the one we visited was the Mozzarella Restaurant & Bar at Dhyanapura which is just up the road from the Breezes Resort. Probably one of the best value restaurants we visited, they had an incredible menu with beautiful steak, seafood, pasta and Indonesian all featuring along with a delicious dessert menu. The staff were incredibly lovely and so attentive and informative without being overbearing. We only found this restaurant on the last night unfortunately or we definitely would have visited more than once!

Hope this little list inspires you to get out and experience some incredible dining experiences while you visit beautiful Bali! If you know of any others that are a must visit, let me know!

Happy eating!
