Barefoot Luxury Byron Bay

Barefoot luxury is the exact two words that I would use to describe the stunning property at Byron Bay where my husband and I have had the pleasure of spending the last 3 nights. The Elements of Byron is a luxury resort style property and Byron’s only absolute beachfront resort. Located in North Beach it is about a 4-minute drive into the town centre, however, if you don’t have a vehicle, no problem. The Byron Bay Train has just opened in December 2017 and is only a short stroll from the resort taking you directly into town for $3 per adult each way.

The open-air lobby exudes a modern, coastal elegance, opening onto the spacious fire pit lounge area and the huge free-form swimming pool. Cabanas and lounge chairs are plentiful as well as 3 beautiful hanging day beds in the exclusive adults only area at the end of the pool complex. Perfect for relaxing with a cocktail in hand and a good book. They do an amazing peach sangria that has my mouth watering just thinking about it!

Our villa of choice was one of their Lagoon Edge villas, specifically number 74, which as the name suggests, was located right on the lagoon. So close, it almost feels like it’s over water. The deck ramped from the path down the side of the villa and opened onto a balcony area with an outdoor setting overlooking the lagoon. Open the glass sliding door and you step straight into a lounge area with a spacious couch and mini bar set up which also housed a sink, toaster & kettle along with a Nespresso pod coffee machine. To your left is the bedroom area with a luxurious super king bed with a super soft and cozy blanket folded on the end for those cooler evenings. An iPad sat on a dock next to the bed which had a full guest services program listing everything you could possibly want to know about your villa, the resort, the activities and the surrounds. The center point of the room is the huge freestanding bath which is in the spacious 2-way bathroom, on which sat a lovely wooden bath rack perfect for sipping your champagne while you enjoy a long soak.

The resort itself is sprawled over 22 hectares of absolute beachfront paradise. 193 private villas are dotted amongst native flora and gives you a feeling of peacefulness and tranquillity. The adults-only pool area is a quiet haven where you can escape and enjoy a specialty cocktail and a bite to eat. Complimentary sunrise yoga on the beach is also included daily so if a bit of Zen and mindfulness is what you are after then that is great to take advantage of. If you are traveling with the family then you are not short of activities with a natural playground, nature walks, tennis court, bocce, giant chess, beach and pool time to keep everyone occupied. Their 2-bedroom villas will ensure there is enough space and privacy for the ultimate family beach holiday.

For the food lovers among us, The Elements is a little bit of foodie heaven. Byron Bay is famed for its local produce caught fresh from the Pacific Ocean or grown and farmed in the rich, green surrounds. The quality is unsurpassed and a source of inspiration for the renowned chefs at the Elements of Byron. We enjoyed an evening at Graze Restaurant the meals and service were amazing!

The staff are an asset that management should be proud of as every single person that we met during our stay was polite, knowledgeable and more than happy to help enhance your stay with personal tips, recommendations, and advice.

All in all, it is a resort that would suit couples, honeymooners and families alike. From a short weekend getaway to a longer indulgence, The Elements is a resort that will take care of all your needs and ensure you have the break you most definitely deserve. If you would like any more information on the resort, rates or availability, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
