The Countdown to Maternity Leave

To all of my lovely clients & followers who may have not already heard, I am super excited to let you all know that my husband and I are expecting our first baby in May 2019! I am well over the half way mark now and feeling very blessed with how well pregnancy has treated me so far, as my good health has meant that I’ve been able to continue on with life and work as normal meaning no disruptions to your holiday planning!

While this is super exciting for us, it’s bought up many questions regarding my plans around maternity leave for those who currently have trips booked in for 2019 or those who are wanting to make a start on some 2019 holiday ideas. So that being said, I thought I would try and let everyone know what my current plans are:

At this point in time, I am going to start scaling back my work load from 1 April 2019 to give me a chance to concentrate on and finalise all of my clients who are currently booked to travel in 2019. As far as actual ‘maternity leave’ is concerned this is going to be a loose term for me as I don't plan to stop working completely, however it is going to depend very much on how the end of my pregnancy goes and how I’m coping with my baby as to how many clients I am going to be able to work with for the remainder of 2019. This being said, I have a growing family to support so I do 100% wish to keep working to a reasonable degree.

If you are hoping for my assistance with your 2019 holiday plans and have not got in contact with me already, then I urge you to do so asap so we can get the ball rolling. From 1 April 2019 until further notice, I absolutely encourage you to still contact me with your travel plans as I will be taking on clients on a case by case basis.

For those who currently hold Gift Vouchers or Honeymoon Registries that I haven’t spoken too already, please note that I will still be honouring all of these as normal and look forward to finalising your plans with you, so please don’t hesitate to contact me at any time. All I ask is that you are patient with me as I can promise you I will be doing my absolute best to get back to you in a timely matter.

I am lucky to be associated with a company such as MTA Travel for the fact that they also provide me with a lovely assistance team of ladies who are going to be backing me up through this entire journey. During the months of May/June/July when I’m going to be settling in with my new baby and may not be readily available, they will be on hand to assist with any urgent situations that may arise with my clients who are close too or currently travelling. So don’t worry, I will definitely not be disappearing and leaving you with no one to call! I will be contacting the particular clients individually that this will concern with more information in the near future so please just bear with me.

If you have any questions or concerns about any of the above, please don’t hesitate to send me an email or give me a call and I can have a chat to you in more detail.

Thank you again to all of those who have already contacted me to share their best wishes and excitement on our news. This is all very new to me so I will be doing my best to still work with as many of you as possible while also settling in to my new role of being a Mum.

Just before I sign off, please, please please don’t feel like your bookings or enquiries are a burden to me during this time. Remember that I am 100% self employed so your bookings allow me to support my growing family and give back to the local community. Without your support I will not be able to continue doing what I love so please by all means get in touch and I will do my best to help where I can.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Best Wishes,
Amber x
