Celebrity Edge January 2023

Celebrity Cruises has brought one of its newest luxury cruise liners, “Edge” to Sydney. I was one of a few lucky agents to go onboard for a few hours to get a taste of what she has to offer. Celebrity Edge is one of the first resorts at sea to receive a Recommended Rating for Forbes Travel Guide in 2023!

Celebrity Edge is just 5 years old and the first in the stunning Edge Series with 2918 passenger capacity based on twin share.

Our ship inspection began in the lap of luxury within “The Retreat”.  The Retreat is a private section of the ship where all the best amenities are all included. The Retreat includes stunning accommodations, a private restaurant, and exclusive lounge and sundeck that rivals any high-end resort where your dedicated team of attendants, concierges, and butlers will do everything to ensure you never have to lift a finger on vacation. The amazing accommodations range from a two-story luxury residence with private plunge pool to Iconic Suites which are 2 bedrooms and located above the bridge so you have the same views as the captain which are amazing!!  Royal Suites are just as luxurious with a living and dining area also featuring a large tub and separate shower with a double sink vanity.  We saw a Concierge Class which is a stateroom with a difference, a dedicated concierge just steps away ready to assist you along with a welcome lunch, bottle of sparkling, afternoon delights and the Infinite Veranda which can open halfway to give you fresh sea breeze all controlled via an app on your phone.  We did not see all the cabins but what we saw was fantastic and luxurious.

Prepare your taste buds for a culinary journey with 29 restaurants and bars aboard the Celebrity Edge! There are 4 main dining areas plus the buffet included in the cost with 8 speciality restaurants which are additional charge. The ship is a haven for food lovers from laid back casual dining to the best dinning at sea with menus crafted by Michelin-star chefs.

The Theatre is a beautiful space which is where you will be able to enjoy different nightly entertainment.  “The Club” is a gathering place during the day and nightclub after dark.  While the ship is not family focused, they are family friendly with two kid’s clubs and plenty of activities to keep the young ones entertained.

The main pool is for everyone and a great size with plenty of deck chairs.  The Solarium Pool is indoor space and available for adults during the day and kids allowed from 4-7pm for family hour.  The Fitness Centre was huge and bigger than my local gym with state-of-the-art Technogym weight machines and cardio equipment.  The Spa is always my favourite spot of any ship, and it has it all from treatments, infrared sauna, salt therapy, Turkish bath and more.  You could spend the whole day in here.

The Celebrity Edge is contemporary, spacious, and luxurious. It doesn’t feel like ship at all, it feels like a 5 star resort hotel!

If you are considering a cruise and want something special, I highly recommend Celebrity Edge.
