Bali 2024

It had been over two decades since my last visit to Bali, and rumours of its transformation intrigued me. So, with eager anticipation, my family and I embarked on a week-long holiday to explore the island's new offerings.

Arrival at Denpasar Airport

The bustling Denpasar airport greeted us with a flurry of activity—money exchanges, tour operators, and private drivers waiting with name placards.   After finding our local driver, we headed towards our sanctuary for the week: Hotel Indigo in Seminyak.

Hotel Indigo: A Hidden Gem

Tucked away amidst the vibrant surroundings of Seminyak, Hotel Indigo surprised us with its tranquil ambiance. The beautiful open air foyer leads us to reception for a welcome drink, setting the tone for a memorable stay. While our room wasn't ready upon arrival, the hotel graciously offered us a complimentary dinner—an unexpected gesture of hospitality.

The boutique hotel boasted tranquil lush grounds adorned with four pools, including a secret garden pool and a shallow kids' pool. Although family-friendly, the hotel maintained a serene atmosphere, lacking the typical hustle and bustle of a family-focused resort.

Our garden view suite provided a luxurious retreat with its spacious layout and modern amenities, ensuring a comfortable stay.

Culinary Delights and Sunset Views

Breakfast at Hotel Indigo was a feast for the senses, featuring a diverse array of dishes catering to every palate. From made-to-order fried rice to gluten-free pastries, the breakfast spread left us spoilt for choice.

For dinner, we enjoyed a beachfront dining experience at SugarSand restaurant, accompanied by breathtaking sunset views and vibrant DJ sets—a perfect way to unwind after a day of exploration.

Seminyak: A Vibrant Oasis

Located in the heart of Seminyak, Hotel Indigo offered easy access to the area's bustling streets lined with shops, restaurants, and spas. Despite the lively atmosphere, the hotel provided a serene retreat, striking a perfect balance between convenience and tranquillity.

Movenpick Jimbaran Bay: Family-Friendly Luxury

Our next stop, Movenpick Jimbaran Bay, proved to be a haven for families. With a splash zone for young ones, waterslides for the adventurous, and a range of activities at the kids' club, the resort catered to guests of all ages. While the beach was nearby, the resort's amenities kept us happily occupied.

Jimbaran Bay: A Culinary Haven

Though we missed the famed seafood dining experience on the beach, we discovered delightful culinary gems right outside the hotel including an Italian restaurant down the road that left a lasting impression.

Final Reflections on Bali

As our journey came to an end, Bali left an indelible mark on our hearts. From its diverse landscapes to its warm hospitality, the island offered something for every traveller. With its abundance of resorts and affordable prices, Bali continues to enchant visitors from around the globe.

Until we meet again, Bali—our family eagerly anticipates our next adventure in your captivating embrace.

Conclusion

Embarking on a journey of rediscovery, our family found Bali to be a treasure trove of experiences, blending modern comforts with timeless charm. From the bustling streets of Seminyak to the tranquil shores of Jimbaran Bay, each moment was infused with the island's unique magic. As we bid farewell to this enchanting paradise, we carry with us cherished memories and the promise of future adventures.
