Beautiful Thai beach without the hassles

Over the years I have been to Thailand 14 odd times (I have lost count actually). Some of them have been just short stops to break up a long haul flight to Europe, other times I have explored the North and of course I have been for the popular beach holidays.

On my last trip we visited Khao Lak which is just over an hour north of the craziness of Phuket. What an amazing oasis we found.

We stayed at a lovely resort directly on the beach called La Flora Resort & Spa in an amazing direct pool access room. It was such a chore in the morning to just open up our door and step straight into the pool. As this was only one of their pools it always felt like we had it to ourselves, that is until Happy Hour at the swim up bar, then a few of the other residents with the pool access rooms would join in for an afternoon drink.

The one aim I had for this holidays was to have a massage everyday of the trip. Here in Khao Lak that was such an easy goal to have with so much choice on offer. The spa at La Flora is an amazing award winning spa where we were absolutely pampered but this was not the only place we went. Up the street there were plenty of great little stores doing 1 hour massages for 300 Baht. If not, wander down to the beach and have a massage with the sound of breaking waves to sooth you even more.

At the end of the day, sitting down at the beach bar having a cold beer after exploring the culture bursting streets and eating delicious Thai food was the most perfect way to end every day. I really can't wait to go back.
