Queensland - November 2013

Gold Coast & Noosa Family Fun

Just had a week in beautiful Queensland for my little brother’s wedding. We decided to turn it into a family holiday and drove to the Gold Coast for a extra couple of nights on the way there.

Our first stop was the Sheraton Mirage Resort & Spa Gold Coast. The hotel underwent a major renovation a few years ago and looks great. The rooms are spacious, the pool is large enough for everyone plus you can walk directly onto the beach from the hotel - absolute beachfront. It is also conveniently located less than 2kms away from Seaworld. This was great for us with 2 kids under 4, after a full morning at Seaworld we were back in our room within 10mins. The hotel connects to the Marina via a walkway and gives you access to shopping, restaurants and a great deli/cafe.

Next we head to Noosa for the main event - 4 nights at the Sheraton Noosa Resort & Spa, and a wedding at Bistro C. Again, this Sheraton had just finished a total renovation. Guest rooms are some of the largest in the country and perfect for families. All rooms have kitchenette facilities and the new interiors are beautiful. The outdoor pool is huge and heated for year round swimming.

Noosa is a great family destination, especially if you are staying on or around Hastings Street. Everything is located on this one street, meaning you shouldn't have to get in a car the whole time you're there. The beach is protected and surounded by great eating options and enough shopping to keep everyone happy.

We will definitely be back again soon...
