ITALY WITH COSMOS
The Magical Italian Lakes, l did this tour before l went on my river cruise in France.
This was my 6th trip to Italy, a country that l never get tired of visiting.
I did this tour with Cosmos who l love travelling with.
I travel solo and have used Cosmos for most of mt trips, l feel very safe with them and am always able to meet and make new friends along the way. I never feel alone.
This tour started in Milan where l stayed for 3 nights prior and did my own thing.
It was not the perfect location but it was a nice clean hotel.
When the tour started we did a tour of Milan and then onto Lake Garda.
We travelled through Po Valley and stopped in Sirmione.
This is a beautiful spa town on the south shore of Lake Garda.
The weather is hot, which l prefer and it did rain for a short time.
I did a boat trip on the lake. Lake Garda is situated at the foot of the Alps.
I did a tour of the vineyards of Verona and Lazise, l love the cypress trees and the olive groves.
Oh yes, the wine was nice also.
Verona to visit the old castle, Romeo and Juliet's house and balcony plus so much more.
Lake Como, was also nice but l felt Lake Garda was better and no l did not see George Clooney.
Cross over to Lugano Switzerland for a cable car ride up Mount Tamara for lunch.
The views over the mountains were breathtaking even more when they are snow covered, which was not the case this time.
All that chocolate, l put on kilo's just looking at it.
From Lugano back to Italy and Lake Maggiore Baveno, now this was my highlight.
We did tours of the smaller islands and the Borromeo Palace which is built like a ship anchored of the shoreline.
I stayed 2 days extra once the tour ended, best thing l did. I loved it here and did not want to leave.
The hotel - The Grand Dino Baveno was amazing, the view from my room over the lake was fantastic.
This was an 8 day tour but did not feel rushed as some tours can feel like that.
We did and saw so much in this time, our tour director Sonja was wonderful as was our coach driver, sorry forgot his name.
We did excursions to Bellagio and Varenna.
Definitely a tour worth doing especially if you want to fill in time before or after a cruise or even an extension of another tour, it doesn't need to be with Cosmos.
