Niagara Falls
An amazing once in a lifetime experience - to journey close to Niagara Falls aboard the Maid of the Mist - quite drenching fun! My husband and I did this trip in 2009. It was part of a Cosmos Tour that took in New York, then up to Niagara Falls for 2 nights, then to Philadelphia for a night, on to Washington DC for 2 then back to New York. It was a magical holiday. We loved New York and all she has to offer - did the full day tour of Manhattan with Grayline Tours before a Pub Crawl of East Village with Uncle Sam's Tours.
We saw Billy Elliot on Broadway, discovered Grand Central Station, the Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building on our own. Niagara Falls is just so beautiful, with many sights to see, a highlights were the Maid of the Mist Tour, a helicopter flight over the Falls and the Behind the Falls Tour.
Philadelphia is steeped in history and was great to have a look around the old area in a horse drawn carriage, see the Liberty Bell and where the Declaration of Independence was signed. Washington DC is very interesting and we really enjoyed visiting the War Memorials as well as some of the Smithsonian Institutes - our favourite was the Air and Space Museum! All in all this was a quick escape and we loved every minute of it and would highly recommend this Cosmos Tour.
