Eating Your Way Round The World

The first time I travelled through Europe with a girlfriend we devoured so much Italian food we gained 5 kilos in a week. Pizza in Rome, Gelato in Florence, Fritto Misto in Venice and sensational pasta anywhere else. Happily, we continued to Spain and danced it off!

These days Australians are blessed with a smorgasbord of cuisines right here at home. But one of the recent trends in travel I’ve seen has been worldwide food and wine experiences.

Even long term operators realise that we’ve done the five countries in five weeks and are ready to stop and savour the Beaujolais. We want itineraries with an emphasis on local cuisine. Maybe Trafalgar Tours “Flavours of Italy” or Avalon Waterways river cruising through Burgundy and Provence.

If small group journeys with like-minded people are more your taste, Intrepid have compiled a fantastic range of worldwide foodie adventures. The range covers diverse countries, from Japan to Sri Lanka or even Mexico.

Alternatively, you prefer to travel at your own pace and choose your own highlights? Want to shop in local markets or wine taste in France? For couples or families we now have access to high quality local operators who will tailor make your own personal itinerary. And at a price point for all tastes.
