Our Murphy Family, Sri Lanka Adventure!
Sri Lanka, means Beautiful Island... and it certainly lives up that!
What a wonderful country, Sri Lanka is bursting with a rich array of attractions, the people are so lovely, so welcoming and the food - delicious!
Historical & beautiful Galle Fort with its ramparts fronting the Arabian Sea & its quaint cobbled lanes, home to old trading houses, antique shops, temples & great restaurants.
National Parks with an abundance of wildlife, elephants, leopards, sloths!
Perhaps my favourite area - the Cultural Triangle. With vast remains of ancient Buddhist civilsations, rock top palaces and hill caves - Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya & Dambulla were amazing!
Sri Lanka's coastlines offer long stretches of palm fringed, white sandy beaches - a nice place to relax & recoup after the heat of the plains & Cultural Triangle.
Tea Plantations dot the areas around Nuwara Eliya, and offer amazing scenic views & fun driving with switch back after switch back!
We had a wonderful family holiday... we went for an adventure & with the travelling/touring around we did over the 3 weeks we certainly had an adventure! Happily there were enough swimming opportunites through the stay to keep the kids rewarded for the fascinating historical visits!
