Hanoi, Vietnam - May 2019

I love an South East Asian city, the organised chaos, the people, this culture, the history & in May the heat!

Hanoi delivered in spades; a beautiful city with a rich and reasonably sad history of invasion.

A city filled with people getting about their lives & happy to share their time.

My husband & I enjoyed a week wandering the narrow streets of the Old Quarter, chatting with locals in small coffee shops & restaurants. Educating ourselves on the history, visiting meusuems and sites accross the city.

Food - as with all the places I have found myself in Vietnam; the food was outstanding!

Retreating back to the famous Sofitel Legent Metropole Hotel, the iconic hertigage hotel was a wonderful way to end each day & begin the next.

A day trip to Ninh Binh was a lovely juxstopisan to city life! With hundreds of limestone monoliths topped by dense greenery that emerge from the ground, scattered around the city with rivers flowing through them and caves formed in them. Riding bicycles through the scenic rice paddies, rowing a tiny wooden boat through the caves - such a fun day!

I'd absolutely recommend a visit to Hanoi.
