Australian Coastal Safaris - Eyre Peninsula

Australian Coastal Safaris – An amazing team headed by David and Mandy with our guide extraordinaire for the day, Pete ‘Clutters’ Clutterbuck – 19th October 2020

Australian Coastal Safari’s is a Port Lincoln family owned and operated tour guiding company specialising in giving their clients the best wildlife and foodie experience possible while visiting South Australia’s Eyre Peninsular. Tours range from single full-day tours to multi-day excursions.

Small group or private adventures are tailor made to your suit your interests. Everything from 4-wheel driving in the dunes of the wild coastline to a gourmet food and wine tour featuring local delicacies, such as the world-famous Coffin Bay oysters or tuna straight from the ocean that morning.

They even provide 5* beach-front accommodation that can sleep up to 8 adults and fully cater for you while you are there, so you will not have to worry about a single thing while you are enjoying your stay in Port Lincoln.

We were with Clutters for the full day ‘’Exceptional Port Lincoln, seafood and wildlife’ tour.  Starting with an orientation drive around Port Lincoln, including expert commentary along the way filling us in on all the history of the region, as well as informing us of the industries that are keeping the town alive and bustling as it was when we were there.                        Our morning ended at ‘The fresh fish place’ where we enjoyed a behind the scenes tour and tasting of an oyster that was shucked right in front of us, before heading to their café for seafood lunch.

The afternoon saw us head out of town to Pt Lincoln National Park to marvel at the stunning views of the coastline, before indulging in a spot of dune-bashing.                                      Then we were off to Makira Station, which is a private property that acts as a sanctuary and is home to the only wild colony of koalas on the Eyre Peninsula. We had privileged access to the farm and the homestead building for an afternoon tea, while koala spotting at the same time.

I highly recommend Australian Coastal Safaris – we cannot wait to catch up with these guys again next time we are in Port Lincoln!
