HOLLAND AMERICA 2 NIGHT CRUISE

I was lucky enough to be asked onto this beautiful Holland America MS Volendam for its first circumnavigation around Australia last week for two nights from Sydney to Brisbane.

What a lovely midsized ship to sail on.

Myself and some other agents including some MTA agents were able to explore the ship to see what was available for our clients. For me the rating of this ship is 4-4.5 star. Passengers onboard are prodominently 50+, but this also depends on the itinerary. If the sailings are longer then it will naturally attract the older demographic.

Amenities onboard are great. I made use of the high quality gym. Equipment is the best and the classes they offer are amazing. Ranging from spin class, stretch, aerobics, core training, abs class, yoga and pilates. The list is endless.
I also made use of the Greenhouse spa and Salon. If you pay $40.00 per day you get endless entry into an exclusive area of the boat where its quiet, tranquil and just down right relaxing. In this room is 4 Hot Ceramic Lounge beds (i fell asleep on it they were that good), a spa and also two sauna rooms along with a seperate quiet area to sit and watch the waves go by.
Apart from this area they have plenty of massage, spa treatments rooms readily available to be booked plus the hair salon, nail technichians plus much much more. Overall a great experience is this area of the ship.

Bars and restaurants are in different areas of the boat as well.
The usual Buffett at all meal times and the A La Carte at all meals times but there is an additional steak house which is amazing at an extra fee of $29.00 plus the italian at an extra $10.00.
Both simply amazing. Different sports bars, coffee lounges, shops and sitting area throughout.

And who could forget the pools and the top deck. On the Volendam they have the option to shut the room (this is because the ship sails prodomenantly through the Alaskan Fiordes so they can accodate the cold climate).
There is also an outside pool on the top deck at the back of the boat. its also a nice area to sit and have breakfast if its a nice day.
Currency onboard is ofcourse USD

Overall it was a great experience.
