Canada
My favourite country to this date would have to be Canada.
The most magical place and yes, what you see on the postcards, that’s exactly what it looks like. I had the pleasure of travelling with 5 star luxury touring company, Scenic Tours for an educational of Canada. We visited the West Coast which included Vancouver, Whistler, Victoria, Jasper, the VIA Rail over night train service, Banff, Lake Louise and Calgary.
This picture is taken of one of the Whistler creeks that are coming off the mountains which runs past the Fairmont Hotel which is also a 5 star Luxury Hotel set right up against the beautiful Blackcomb Mountain.
I travelled there in September/October. It was a beautiful time to travel as it was there fall, just before winter. Weather was about 18 degrees during the day depending on where we were and during the night it would drop down to around 5 degrees.
There were plenty of black bears and deer throughout the entire journey and yes we did manage to get chased by one of the deer as it’s their mating season. The black bears start to go into hibernation so we were very lucky to see such a large amount on our travels.
I cannot recommend Canada Highly enough, whether it be for the Winter if you’re a skier or you have never skied before, the scenery will blow your mind and the experience alone will be one you will never forget. If you don’t like the cold, travelling in Summer is also a magical time to travel. Beautiful weather, visible mountains and everything is opened for operation.
Gondolas operate throughout most months and if you want some extreme height action, Banff Sky Gondola is out of control! I am very much scared of heights but this was a once in a lifetime opportunity so I decided to jump on. The only words that came out of my mouth were (oh my god, oh my god) with a heart rate well above what it should be.
You can see the West Coast of Canada through many different means of transport, whether you want to travel on your own and at your own pace, with a tour company like Scenic Tours, by rail, by sea or by Sky. So much to see, so please ensure you allow enough time to experience all that Canada has to offer. An Absolute highlight!
