SKIING IN ASPEN

When most people think of Aspen they think of movie stars and celebrities but Aspen, in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains is so much more than that. It is one of the world’s best Ski Resorts and more affordable than you think.

Originally, it was inhabited by the Ute Indians, then in the late 1800s it became a silver mining town with this wonderful history displayed through the buildings. There is a mix of old and new with nothing being built above 4 levels making an intimate, historic and relaxed feel about it. Aspen is often described as “the soul of a mountain town, the buzz of a city.”

Aspen is warm, friendly and visually stunning with the streets filled with snow in the winter and the trees linked with fairy lights. In the main town area, everything is within walking distance making it easily accessible.

Aspen town is at the base of Aspen Mountain (the locals call Ajax) so even if you are not a skier you can travel up the enclosed gondola to the restaurants and meet your friends or family for lunch or dinner.

There is a wonderful mix of cafes, restaurants and shops from your everyday stores to your high-end fashion boutiques; there is something for everyone.

Aspen has easy shuttle access that is free and comes every 15 minutes, giving you access to all the other surrounding mountains including Snowmass, Highlands and Buttermilk.

There are varied styles of accommodation and something to suit everyone with a range of prices.  It will surprise you how reasonable a holiday it can be, especially if you avoid the peak times!

Aspen is so much more than “celebrity” it is one of the most fabulous ski towns in the USA with so many options to make your stay the most memorable and enjoyable for all budgets.
