Maasai Mara Glamping

What a year!  I have been so fotunate to experience South Africa and Kenya during August and September 2014. The grand finale was a 3 night Mara Private Tented camp on the Maasai Mara - nothing commercial - a true life experience when we were waited on exclusivley by 13 caring compassionate Abercrombie & Kent staff.

We were flown into the Maasai by private plane from Lake Nakuru and on completion of our experience, flown back to Nairobi. With this mode of transport, we escaped the long rough roads and were able to capture the spectacular scene of millions of wildebeest and other animals grazing on the expansive Massai.

We were treated to private morning and evening game drives, silver service bush breakfasts, a  hot air baloon flight and to top it off, a picnic lunch on the Masai River while awaiting a wildebeest crossing to take place. WOW What a scene. It was spectacular.

This glamorous "glamping" was totally inclusive of all drinks and  meals. Whatever your  wish was their desire. Each private tent had its own en suite facilities with flushing toilet and hot water shower, personally mixed and made ready by your private butler when you were ready to shower.  Maasai Wariors kept patrol each night and solar batteries provided light. In preparation for the morning game drive, your butler brings tea or coffee (depending on prior arrangements with your butler) and biscuits at wakeup time. So lovely wakening to the roar of lions out on the Maasai- you have to pinch yourself to believe what you are experiencing.

July through to September is the best viewing times for the Wildebeest Migration.
