Verona and the Dolomites - September 2013
Verona is situated in the province of Veneto in Northern Italy. It is often overlooked as a destination with most tours stopping here only briefly to see Juliet’s famous balcony. Situated on the river Adige, Verona rivals Firenze for beauty with beautiful bridges, a medieval castello, a Roman amphitheatre that holds opera and modern musical concerts and a picturesque inner city with great cafes, shops and a lovely atmosphere. Verona is a great place to base yourself as Padua, Mantua, Bologna, Venezia and even Venice are all a short train ride away. Its location 30km from Lago Di Guarda means easy access to mountain biking and water sports in summer and the Dolomites are only a couple of hrs away for some great skiing.
