This was an unusual destination in the middle of winter but a great escape for the whole family from tropical Cairns. We spent a white Christmas here enjoying the traditional trees and decorations, the fabulous Christmas markets and winter activities. The kids went skating in the middle of Oslo and sledding using traditional wooden sleds down a specially built track on the outskirts of the city was also a buzz...There are lots of Ski resorts for the powder hounds and of course the Arctic lights can be seen if you travel to the Arctic Circle.
