Travel in Cambodia

Australians need a visa to enter Cambodia. These can be obtained beforehand through the embassy or upon entry at any of Cambodia’s borders if you are travelling by land or at the airport if you are travelling by air. The Visa on arrival is a simple process however you need to supply a passport sized photo and US$20 exactly.

Although the official currency of Cambodia is the Riel the country runs on US dollars with Riel only used for change (cents) or in the smaller towns. Make sure you bring plenty of lower denomination notes as many things cost less than US$10. E.g a Tuk Tuk to the markets will cost $3 a massage $4. Also be careful not to accept torn notes as change as the locals will refuse to take them from you.
