New Techonology Airplanes

Have you flown on one of the latest technology airplanes?

Today air travel has become a much enhanced experience with a range of new technology aircraft. Many of the top airplane producers are brining out new generation models that are more fuel efficient, offer a quieter travel experience and also an increased level of comfort. Some of these are using their existing models and bringing them up to date to compete in an ever more competitive environment such as the A320-neo and the A330-neo, and the Boeing 737-Next Gen models e.g. Boeing 737-MAX

Below are the 3 main contenders of the very popular new aircraft:

  • Airbus A380 - Super Jumbo
  • Boeing 787 - Dreamliner
  • Airbus A350 XWB
  • Boeing 747-800 next generation
The Airbus A380 has been around for a around 10 years and was the first and only complete double decker aircraft. This offered airlines the chance to really improve their service offering with much more fuel efficient and quiet engines. Travelling in the A380 is a super quiet experience, and airlines have now develpoed suites in First Class and redevoloped their offerings to business, premium economy and economy class passengers alike.
To date I have currently flown on the following airlines A380s and in the following classes:
  • Qantas - economy class
  • Singapore Airlines - economy and business class
  • Emirates - economy and business class
  • Malaysian Airlines - economy class
  • British Airways - premium economy & busines class
  • Thai Airways - business class
  • Lufthansa - business class
  • Asiana - business class
  • Air France - premium economy
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner has now been around for a couple of years. A widebody aircraft that has really provided a new level of service. Ultra quiet, great fuel efficiency, carbon materials providing a smooth, quiet and comfortable flight. The most exciting thing with this aircraft are the huge double sized windows, providing almost a panoramic lookout.  Plus with window tinting, you can see out both at day and night as if you were wearing sunglasses.
To date I have currently flown on the following airlines Boeing 787 Dreamliners:
  • Jetstar - B787-8 - business class
  • Royal Brunei - B787-8 - business class
  • Qatar Airways - B787-8 economy class
  • British Airways - B787-8 premium economy class
  • LAN (LATAM) B787-8 - economy class
  • Air India B787-8 - business class
  • Scoot B787-9 - business class
  • Thai Airways B787-9 business class
  • Nowegian B787-9 - Premium Class
  • Air Canada B787-9 - business class
  • Japan Airlines B787-9 - business class
  • KLM B787-9 business class
  • Air France B787-9 business class
  • EVA B787-10 business class
  • All Nippon B787-8 business class

You can also read my first blog about the first 787 flight I took.

The last is the brand new Airbus A350 XWB - this stands for extra wide body, and will provide a new eperience in comfort with larger windows, larger cabin and new seating.

This offers many of the benefits of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and all three aircraft are offering airlines the ability to open new and diverse routes due to their available option sizes and fuel efficiency. The A350 is also ultra quiet, again made of carbon materials and benefits from increased cabin window dimensions.
