General Travelling Tips

1. Ensure you register your details with Smart Traveller before you go away - www.smartraveller.gov.au. Registering on smart traveller is invaluable when travelling overseas. If there was a natural disaster, civil disturbance or a family emergency and your family was worried about you back home, then Smart Traveller can contact you to ensure you are safe.

2. Check when booking your trip what vaccinations you may need for the destination you are visiting - www.tmvc.com.au

3. Don't risk it - buy travel insurance. The last thing you want to be worrying about when you or a loved one is hurt is how am I going to pay for this? Overseas medical costs can be extremely high and the importance of having adequate travel insurance when travelling overseas on business or pleasure cannot be overstated.

4. If you really want to impress the locals, learn a few key phrases e.g. how to ask for directions or finding the bathroom/restroom.

5. Some travellers can't live without their shavers, blow dryers or straighteners, buy an adaptor before you go so that you’re able to use all your favourite electronics.
