Hawaii

There’s no question about it, Hawaii is a wonderful place to visit if you find yourself looking for a vacation of warm weather and sandy toes. The water temperatures are perfect for soaking in year-round, the palm trees are always swaying, and the aloha spirit welcomes you at every corner. Having travelled there 9 times, the beaches and the people would definitely take me back.

If you’ve dreamt about sipping Mai Tai’s on a beach in Hawaii, but not sure where to start hopefully my blog will give you a bit of an insider...

Oahu is very touristy but that’s what I love about it.  You can spend a whole day in Ala Moana shopping mall, or the outlets and still won’t get through them all! Or spend the day doing nothing at Hanauma Bay. A gorgeous beach, and the best snorkel area in Hawaii. You could read, eat lunch, walk up and down the beach, and just enjoy Hanauma Bay’s natural beauty.

For those who want a 5 star experience stay at the Halekulani, my favourite hotel followed by the Modern hotel which is closer to Ala Moana and out of the busy Waikiki Area. One of my favourite Japanese hotels in Hawaii is situated at this hotel, Morimoto Restaurant. Hilton Hawaiian village is great for families who want to be located near the beach, stores and access to many more facilities. Halekulani and the Modern are one of the few hotels which have a modern vibe and chic.

A day trip out to Pearl Harbour is a must and no vacation is complete in Hawaii without a Luau experience. You truly get to experience the local culture, amazing food and live entertainment.

Every island offers its own unique spots with a one-of-a-kind view. A visit to some of these scenic spots allows you to capture the spirit of the island in just one shot – both literally and figuratively. Even for the first timers to Hawaii.

Things are pretty heated on Hawaii Island and it’s not just the weather. Visit the Big Islands - Hawaii Volcano National Park is home to Mauna Loa and Kilauea, which are the only active volcanoes in the United States. The view will leave you in awe as you perch 400 feet above the steaming summit and watch Madame Pele in action. Visitors can also check out the volcanic landscape of lava fields and walk through lava tubes. Thank god for an iPhone for my 200 photo snaps!

Kauai is another favourite. Known as the Garden Isle, Kauai has plenty to offer travellers interested in experiencing nature. Wailua Falls is just one of the many in the area. I definitely would pre book a car as it’s not easy to get around with taxi or public transport.

Kona is home to the yearly ironman competition, it gets quite busy. Definitely stop by one of the many coffee farms to experience Kona coffee from farm to cup. My third favourite hotel in Hawaii is located at Kona, The Four Seasons. The views are stunning!

As you can see from my blog I can write pages about Hawaii! You can follow my facebook for photos on Hawaii.
