Royal Caribbean - South Pacific Cruise March 2015

From the minute we boarded to the last goodbye this was one of the most relaxing holidays we have had to date. Boarding was a seamless process as long as you have your Seapass paperwork printed and signed to hand in to check in with your passport as well as your Departure Card from the terminal staff. Staterooms are ready by floor, the higher you are up the earlier you can enter your room. Lunch is served in the Windjammer buffet as soon as you arrive and the cocktails are awaiting.

Here are some Do's and Don'ts Tips that will assist you on going on a Royal Caribbean Ship.

DO'S

  • Bring toiletries except soap.
  • US adapter for power if you want to charge your phone.
  • Bring hair straightener.
  • Buy your drink package when you book your cruise as the drink package prices do go up.
  • You need US $ if you are wanting to gamble in the Casino, you can also withdraw money at the Casino on your Seapass card and pay for it by your credit card at the end of the cruise.
  • Play Bingo and bring your own highlighter, buy a bingo toy at the first game session to get bonus jackpot tickets.  A lady won $6000 on this cruise!
  • Bring reef shoes and snorkels if you plan on doing water activities.
  • TIP your waiter and room attendant on the last night of cruising if they are amazing.
  • Bring a laynard for your Seapass and drink plenty of water!

DON'TS

  • Overpack, for guys 2 pairs of jeans and one pair of slacks, formal night does not mean full bow tie unless you want to. Ladies a couple of cocktail dresses, dress pants and sparkly tops is enough for the main dining room. Unless you are happy to go to the buffet every night you don't need any formal gear at all.
  • No need to bring towels, you can take ship towels to port.
  • Depending on your ports, sometimes it is beneficial to wait for your shore tours especially in the South Pacific Region. However if there is something that may sell out book it ahead!
  • Hairdryer in room is fine to use.
  • See a doctor onboard will set you back $120 so don't do it unless necessary.
  • Don't drink too much on your first night!

OTHER TIPS

  • We found My Time dinner with no reservation was suited to us, we could rock up and get a table each night when we felt like it.
  • Souvenir sales happen daily on the pool deck, I recommend waiting for the sales and purchase other items on the last day of the cruise.
  • Put your Seapass in the pokie machine when playing, you end up with cash credit on your card to use for merchandise or withdraw the money.
  • Day 5 they had a laundry special - $30 for your a small bag, we fit in this bag quite alot of t-shirts, underwear, swimwear and shorts - note jeans / pants and collared shirts are not permitted in the bag sale.
