Carnival Splendor Melbourne Cup Cruise October 2022
I hosted a group of 26 guests on this cruise which sailed from Sydney to Melbourne for both Melbourne Cup and Oaks Day.
We started with a pre-night stay at the Four Seasons Sydney and a meet up at the Grain Bar so the group could meet others.
Boarding was a breeze, boarded early and was sipping on my first cocktail by midday.
Carnival Splendor is quirky, bright and colourful and can be difficult for some to find their way around as some decks don't go all the way down you have to find your way down stairs to get to your destination.
Food offerings were great with the Lido Marketplace, Main Dining and specialty restaurants. Some of our group splurged at Farenheit and at the Long Lunch which they raved about.
The Green Lantern slides got a work out until we hit very cold Melbourne. Unfortunately the weather was not in our favour, the coldest Melbournce Cup since 1913. The organisation of the ship buses to / from Flemington was seemless and all included in your cruise fare.
We went to a Q&A onboard with Glen Boss, also had a photo opportunity with him and his 3 winning cups.
Theme nights galore on this cruise, Halloween, Rock n Glow 80s party, Island night and Elegant night.
They call this the FUN ship and it definitley is!
