Carnival Luminosa November 2022

7 night cruise up to Cairns and Port Douglas.

Unfortunately many first time cruisers turning up to boarding well before their boarding time, congregating and congesting the boarding area.  People need to be more considerate and patient.  That would be my only gripe, about the boarding process and that is not the ships fault.

They started boarding about an hour early for Platinum and Priority guests and before you know it we were on, it was a very quick process.  Quicker check in if you have done your VeriFLY app so you don't have do a second health questionairre at check in.

Sea pass cards are in your cabin which you can't collect until rooms open at 1.30pm so you just use your boarding pass to purhase drinks in the interim.

Marketplace is already open for lunch with loads of food options all served to you except the salad, fruit and desserts.  Choose from the Deli sandwiches, fresh pizza made to order, Burger Bar, Taco and Burrito bar, gourmet pies with mushy peas and mash plus more at this station, slow cooked meats at the Ol' BBQ plus an Asian section.  Plus free flowing soft serve ice-creama and yoghurts were very popular.

For dinner you had the Marketplace open with a dinner option, plus the Pizza joint seemed to be alwasy open plus you have the Main Dinng Room.  They also do a great sea day brunch in the dining room, from eggs benedict to burgers.  Breakfast all the usual offerings benedict, scrambled, omelette stations and more.

Specialty restaurants are Farenheit plus pay extra for Seafood Shack and Sushi.

For kids, besides the kids club and the small Lido pool not too much else for them to do unless they like trivia with the family.  The slides and waterpark are yet to be installed.

For the adults the Serenity adults only pool area with cabanas is at the AFT of the ship, has it's own bar with the Sunset bar also above it.

Theme nights, 80s Rock n Glo Party, Island night, Elegant Night.

Activities alot of trivia, so if you are a trivia buff your day is sorted, bingo with big prize money, loads of live music from duos, rock bands and piano players plus live DJ on the Lido deck each day.

This ship is funky and colourful a bit Art Deco with the fixtures and fittings, but I liked it.  It is small, easy to get around from one end to the other.

Great size Casino and theater.  The Luminosa lounge is quite small for their comedy club, if you don't get in at least half an hour prior to a show you will not get a seat.

It is a great option for Brisbane and first time cruisers, or those that like a smaller ship without all the fandangled extras.
