HOTEL ERWIN VENICE BEACH
February 2024 I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights whilst on my Visit California Famil.
The hotel is smack bang in the middle of Venice Beach, it is quirky with retro furnishings, with great views of Venice Beach from your balcony.
It also has a rooftop bar, and a small bar in the foyer area.
They give you free bike hire so you can cruise up to Santa Monica Pier or down to Marina Del Rey.
There is heaps to do within walking distance:
- first Friday of the month is food truck night in Abbot Kinney, with over 30 food trucks, there is a great open outdoor area to eat and grab a drink at too
- The best Ricotta pancake I have ever had was across the road from the hotel at an all day breakfast cafe called Great White
- Go exploring the Venice Canals, also cool shops in Abbot Kinney while you are on this walk
- Santa Monica Pier is a fun day out
If you have a car you can go to:
- Getty Villa (it's free but you must have a booking)
- Take a drive up to Pacific Palisades, great lunch spot and you may see Adam Sandler
- Westwood Village near UCLA has heaps of bars and shops
- Grab a ticket to a UCLA Basketball game
- Take a drive up to Malibu, some great wineries and famous houses to spot
