USA

New York/LA:

I have recently returned from a trip to The USA. Highlights included, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and New York City.

New York is an amazing city and definatley a city that never sleeps, The Hilton by DoubleTree is my choice for family hotels. It is in a fantastic location at Times Square and walking distance to the Theatre District and Central Park. The subway is close, there are lots of restaurants, bars and amazing shops. The rooms are large for a central New York property and its great value for money. For a more upmakret hotel, my choice is the Trump Soho Hotel. Many of my regular corporate clients choose the Hudson Hotel for location and style. The Hudson is a more boutique style property perfect for couples or business trips.

New York is relatively easy to explore yourself or take a tour. Try the Sunset Cruise on the Hudson River or  a hop on / hop off city Tour by night or day. The Empire State Building and Central Park are great to visit.  The shopping is unlimited and if you have children, Swartz FAO is amazing. The American Doll Shop and the M&M building are also great to see.

Anaheim:

If you are planning on a trip to Disneyland, I recommend staying at a Disney property. The Disneyland Resort and Paradise Pier Hotel are fantastic Disney resorts both located close the parks, the facilites are great and both have charater dining opportunites. Other popular choices are the Castle Inn and Suites and The Howard Johnson Hotel.

All of these properties are great for location, located outside down town Disney.

Los Angeles:

Los Angeles is fabulous for shopping, entertainment and sightseeing. If you have limited time, take a tour to Hollywood which includes the stars homes and the beaches. Santa Monica is a great day trip. There is a small theme park, some great restaurants and the beach is lovely. Universal Studios is fantastic if time permits.

San Diego:

The drive along the coastline from Los Angeles to San Diego is spectacular. There are some great beaches, cute little shops and cafes to explore along the way. San Diego is a fabulous day trip or stop over. You can take a tour, bus or hire a car. The foreshore in San Diego is very pretty, clean and safe. An easy way to see San Diego is the trolley tour that takes you through China town, the Marina and Old town.

Las Vegas:

My top hotel picks for Las Vegas are the Belagio, The Venetian and The MGM Grand for location. New York New York is great for kids with the inhouse rollercoaster. Planet Hollywood is fantastic for families as well.
