Vietnam and Cambodia

I suppose I have been in the fortunate position to be able to use my passport for most of my holidays. My last trip was to Vietnam and Cambodia in December with Travel Indochina – now Insider Journeys...and what a trip it was. The great thing about Insider Journeys is all their departures are guaranteed, and we were the only two! We had our own private tour!!

We travelled from Hanoi in the north to Ho Chi Minh in the south. This was my fourth visit to Vietnam and I am still trying work out which area of the country I love the most.

The old town in Hanoi is chaos...but organised chaos! One of the bravest things you can do in Vietnam is conquer crossing the road. I am sure there are more motor bikes than people in Vietnam. Once you have this mastered, you will feel like a local. You just can’t beat a foodies walking tour in Hanoi.

Travelling further South takes us down to Hoi An. It is like stepping back in time. Surely the tailoring capital of the world. Get measured up one day and collect the next. The quality is fantastic.

Heading to Ho Chi Minh will take you to the jumping off point of the Mekong Deltas – Asia’s food bowl. A cruise on the Mekong is a must...and if you do a cruise that takes you through to Cambodia, even better! The cruise will finish in Siem Reap, home to the magical Angkor Wat. I can book a private guide for you that will make this truly memorable.

What are you waiting for?
