Italy 2017
I finally got to do a lengthy trip around Italy which was something i was so excited to do. I also got to do it with my daugher, which made it extra special. We started in Rome, then travelled down to Sorrento where we stayed and used as our base, which worked really well. While we were there we visited the Isle of Capri, Positano, Pompeii and Mt Vesuvius and other little coastal towns. We then got the train again to Sienna in Tuscanny which again we used as our base while we explored this absolutely stunning part of Italy. We spent time in the hill towns of Montalcino, Montapulciano, Pienza then onto the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Lucca and Monteriggioni and San Gimignano. It was so hard to pick the best, when you thought you had seen the most beautiful town, the next one was even better. We spent time in Florence and of course got to all the galleries, the statue of David has to be seen to truly experience its beauty. We then travelled to Venice, what a wonderful place, the only time you are happy to get lost. We then went to Milan which was again a lovely city and then got to spend time at Lake Como where we attended a wedding, which was a special time. That area is just so scenic and again has to be seen to take in all the beauty of the towns of Como, Bellagio, Menaggio and others. We finished our time in Rome and of course took in all the main sights, the Vatican again is just incredible to see.
It was a wonderful learning experience for me as well as also using the trains, local buses and even being brave enough to drive ! That is not for the feint hearted. All good information for my clients who wish to travel around the same way.
