Namibia Day 1

It is difficult to find adjectives to describe the vast countryside of Namibia as it is just so unique. A land of memorable contrasts and the second least populated country in the world. On our 12-day journey with Bench and Ultimate Safaris we travelled through 6 distinct areas: The city of Windhoek, Namib Desert, Atlantic Coast, Damaraland, Etosha National Park and the rolling hills of Okonjima.
Our trip began on 1st December when we landed at Hosea Kutako International Airport, a 45 minute drive from Windhoek. We spent our first night at Galton House a small German style guest house boasting 8 bedrooms. The service was impeccable, and we were treated with a gin tasting experience prior to a delicious game dinner of kudu.
