Baltic Sea Cruise
A cruise is a great way to get a sample of countries and its people, you can then pick your favourites and visit them again another time. A Baltic Sea cruise has something for everyone... stunning scenery, experiences, culture and more history than you can poke a stick at! I was lucky enough to travel on a Fred Olsen 12 night cruise a few years ago.
St Petersburg has always been on my "hitlist" of desired travel destinations but the expense of flying there had always put me off. When I came across a Fred Olsen brochure I spotted the Baltic Sea itinerary and when I saw that places like Copenhagen, Oslo, Tallin (Estonia) as well as St Petersburg were included I jumped at the chance to go and booked my cabin.
I love cruising for a variety of reasons but especially because:
- It's a great way to sample countries
- You only have to unpack once
- There are lots of different shore excursions available
- At sea there are a plenty of activities and entertainment options onboard
- Excellent food and often a selection of restaurants to choose from
- There are no dishes!
