Africa Part 2 - Ngoma Safari Lodge Chobe

On arrival to this lodge we were all dazzled and very excited. As you enter the lodge reception you get a tunnel view from high up down into Chobe, with the river separating Botswana and Zambia. It was utterly breathtaking!

Judy, the lodge manager at the time, was a great host, she was very friendly and accommodating.

The check-in was done very promptly while sipping on a welcome drink. The details of the lodge were explained to us and then we were shown to our rooms. The hotel is a 4-star lodge experience with private plunge pools with a sun area and outdoor shower. The beds face the glass windows which have a 180 degree view down into Chobe. The beds were extremely comfortable! Rooms have espresso machines, mini bar and a rain shower in the bathroom.

All meals are al la carte and every meal was delicious, you really feel like you have got your value for money here. The chef comes out and personally tells you about the menu.

You were offered two game drives per day and a choice of a river safari as well. MK our guide was very nice, he had a good knowledge of the area but there was no way he was going to top our experience at Elephant Valley Lodge.

This side of Chobe offered different game viewing and we saw lots of Zebras. We opted to have sundowners by the river one afternoon as we felt we wouldn’t be able to top the last few game drives we had and it was such a beautiful afternoon. I highly recommend doing this so you can really take in the beauty of Chobe. We had a table set up with wine and cheese and camp chairs down by the river it will forever be in my memory – this was close to claiming top experience!

This lodge is for those seeking luxury experiences and game viewing. At night you need to be escorted to your lodge as there are no perimeters and Elephants often come and visit along with Baboons and even Lions!
