Africa Part 4 Zambia - Sussi & Chuma Sanctuary Retreats
This lodge is located on the bend of the Zambezi River in the Mosi Oa Tunya National Park. There are 12 Sussi Tree Houses, connected by wooden walkways. Each Tree House has a large deck overlooking the Zambezi, the resident Hippo’s may pop up; they are certainly vocal and loud!
On the guests last day they take you to an island across the river and set up a beautiful lunch for you which was really nice, The Hippos spent the afternoon entertaining us.
There is a lovely pool overlooking the river and a big deck with a bar to have sundowners and watch the sunset.
The restaurant serves a’la carte dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s an all-inclusive lodge.
The lodge is a nice quiet place and would suit honeymooners or couples.
They have walking safaris which they can take you to the White Rhino’s, this was an amazing experience. Each Rhino has its own military body guard to protect them from poachers. They have authority to shoot and kill if needed. Overall, my complete African experience was one to remember and I would highly reccomend everyone do this!
