Travelling Overseas

When travelling overseas, you need to consider extra things such as Travel Insurance, vaccinations, visas and currency.

I recently had clients who travelled to Myanmar (Burma). The recommended currency to take is USD - make sure they are in smaller demonations and  are clean and not damaged. When you get there, it will be converted to the local currency (Kyat). It is best to spend all your Kyat over there or exchange it back to USD before you come home.

Credit card and ATM facilities are pretty much non-existent. Australian passport holders need a tourist visa and it is recommended to obtain it before you go (through the Embassy in Canberra).

It is also recommended to be vaccinated against Malaria, mainly as mosquitoes are in large numbers in Myanmar.
