Incredible India

India - a country of utmost beauty and spendeour, but the place that has touched my heart the most is Kerala, South India, also know as God's own Country.

There is more than Kerala, about India, but I wish to touch on Kerala in this post.

Kerala, a state on India's tropical Malabar Coast, has nearly 600km of Arabian Sea shoreline. It's known for its palm-lined beaches and backwaters, a network of canals. Inland are the Western Ghats, mountains whose slopes support tea, coffee and spice plantations as well as wildlife. National parks like Eravikulam and Periyar, plus Wayanad and other sanctuaries, are home to elephants, langur monkeys and tigers.

Named as one of the ten paradises of the world by National Geographic Traveler, Kerala is famousespecially for its ecotourism initiatives and beautiful backwaters.

Summer Season from March to May, is hot but not humid, as it is near the tropics. Monsoon seasonbetween June and August is the best time to visit Kerala for Ayurveda treatments.

Kerala is also well known for their Ayurvedic treatments. Ayurveda, which means - Knowledge of Life - is perhaps the most ancient Science of Health known to man. You can tailor make your treatments, and most westerners come all this way just to enjoy the luxurious settings of a resort style holistic experience.

Another splendeour of Kerala, is cruising the backwaters on a houseboat. Cruising along the backwaters of Kerala is an unforgettable experience. If you have not experienced it, here is a golden opportunity to do it at a fraction of its original cost. You could get in any House Boat of your liking, saunter down the cool placid waters of our world-famous backwaters, have a merry time and get back home either the same day or after spending a night as well out floating around.

he crew cooks on board, and most often, their meals included delicious pearlspot fish caught straight from the water. A portion of the House Boat had bamboo roofing, and that was where the crew would rest. You will be enjoying the finest Kuttanadan delicacies when you saunter down the backwaters. You will be lounging in the best-furnished cabins with a view you cannot find anywhere else in the world, and the entire milieu is ecological. Fresh food, cooked in inimitable Kuttanadan style is the rage of the international tourists.

You can never get enough of Kerala, it's food and smells of fresh seafood and other local cuisine - it's no wonder it's known as God's own country.
