Scenic Eclipse
Luxury line Scenic has announced itineraries for its new luxury discovery yacht, the Scenic Eclipse. Cruise Passenger Magazine summed up nicely some information about the new Luxury vessel and one of her amazing itierarires. No words. WOW!
The ship, which will have it’s own helicopter and underwater submersible will be sailing on a number of voyages around Europe and the Mediterranean and South America.
The ship which, will accommodate only 228 guests (and only 200 in the Artic and Antarctica) will be launched on August 31, 2018 in the Mediterranean.Scenic has also released details on its polar discovery voyages which includes visits to Antarctica, South Georgia and the Falkland Islands, the Arctic, Canada and Alaska as well as Scandinavia.
The new brochures outline five star hotels pre and post cruise stays in Europe and South America as well the excursions included while you sail on the Scenic Eclipse.
The company places an emphasis on bespoke shore excursions and will provide guests unique experiences for every taste. Or as Scenic calls it, Freechoice activities.For example, in Madrid, you’ll get the chance to attend a Flamenco Dance Workshop where you’ll learn the basic moves of this fiery routine and. in Oslo, you’ll visit the Akershus Fortress which has withstood sieges over time.If you decide to sail to the USA, you can visit the National World War II Museum in New Orleans or, in South America you can go on an off-road adventure in El Calafate and discover the stunning scenery of the Los Glaciares National Park in Argentina.
The company has also created tours for the epicurean traveller – in Colombia, you’ll get to do rum and chocolate tasting, in Peru, you’ll visit the MAP Café which is one of Cuzco’s most famous restaurants and in the USA, dine on modern creole food at NOLA in New Orleans.For the Australian company, the voyages to the Antarctica and Arctic are ground breaking, especially on the six-star Scenic Eclipse.
Equipped with naturalists, butlers as well as some of the world’s top chefs, you’ll be exploring some of the world’s most remote destinations in style.

Day 1 Buenos Aires > UshuaiaYour journey into wonder begins in Argentina as you fly from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia where you will be warmly greeted by the crew as you step on board Scenic Eclipse. Settle into your handsomely appointed suite. Try on your custom designed parka, head to the change room to be fitted with our boots and acquaint yourself with all the sumptuous facilities of your luxurious Discovery Yacht. Raise your class this evening as you toast the start of your voyage at the welcome cocktail reception hosted by the Captain who will introduce your expert Discovery Leaders and their team.
Day 2 At SeaRelax and enjoy the amazing facilities of your floating resort as you cruise towards the Antarctic Peninsula. Expertly designed to traverse the important sea trade route of the Drake Passage, Scenic Eclipse crosses faster than all other vessels. Partake in an entertaining presentation by one of the Discovery Team in the state-of-the-art theatre or relax in your suite. Your palate will be delighted as you explore the extensive range of dining options or your butler will serve you in-suite.
Days 03-09 Antarctic PeninsulaThe first sightings of icebergs and snow-capped mountains signal you’ve reached the Antarctica Peninsula. Due to the extraordinary nature of the region, the sailing and expedition schedule is flexible. Freechoice: Equipped with a fleet of Zodiacs and kayaks, snowshoes, helicopters and a submarine, a discovery excursions will take you to the place of your wildest dreams. Your crew will navigate some of the most beautiful waterways including the Paradise Bay and traverse the stunning 11-kilometre-long Lemaire Channel where steep cliffs hem in the iceberg-filled passage.
