California calling
In September 2017, I was fortunate enough to experience a trip to California with some fellow colleagues.
Our first stop was West Hollywood. This is a nice part of Los Angeles and I would definitely recommend staying here, if you're staying in L.A. There are some lovely hotels and it's an up-market area. You can walk to many shops and restaurants. We travelled by Uber when we travelled further out to Beverly Hills and Hollywood Walk of Fame. Los Angeles is huge and more widespread than I first thought.
After 2 nights in West Hollywood we caught the train down to San Diego. The train down the coast is a great way to travel between these 2 cities and I would recommend this to anyone. I wasn't sure what to expect in San Diego, but was pleasantly surprised. It's a pretty, clean and safe city with so much on offer for everyone. In a few short days here, we managed to fit in some shopping, a trip to SeaWorld, USS Midway Museum, Safari Park and visit to the famous Hotel Del Coronado (featured in many films). Of course, a trip to San Diego wouldn't be complete without visiting a winery and a brewery (did you know there are around 150 breweries in San Diego, fantastic for all those beer lovers!). We all made sure we popped into the Top Gun bar as well. It still looks the same as it did in the movie all these years later. The Gaslamp quarter comes alive at night with many restaurants and bars. I really loved San Diego and highly recommend for anyone thinking of visiting the USA, lots to offer everyone.
