Princess Medallion Class

The dreaded COVID-19, because of its easily transmissible nature, has brought with it a new set of problems for cruise lines. Expect many changes when you are next on board, not the least of which will be paperless embarkation and no more self-service in restaurants.

Touch free technology will play a big part in cruising in the years to come and Princess Cruises is leading the way.

All guests will be given a personal Ocean Medallion, a small wearable device, which allows touch-less embarkation and disembarkation and keyless stateroom entry. Guests can also use it for payments, on-demand Food and Beverage and location-based gaming and it works in conjunction with Medallion Net high-speed internet connectivity. Can’t locate a loved-on? No problem; this new technology can even help locate friends and family no matter where they are on the ship.

It can be attached to a lanyard and worn around your neck; clipped to your belt or handbag or even worn like a watch.

Princess Cruises has confirmed its global fleet will feature the Medallion Class Experience when it gains approval to return to service in 2021. During the cruise pause, Princess has continued to transform its ships, with Coral Princess, Diamond Princess, Emerald Princess, Grand Princess, Island Princess, Majestic Princess and Sapphire Princess to all return as Medallion Class ships, along with the new Enchanted Princess.
