Aman Resorts - 3 of Asia's finest

Aman resorts – what’s not to love? Here are 3 you should include in your next visit to Asia.

Amanoi, Ninh Thuân, Vietnam

Located on a spectacular stretch of Vietnam’s coastline, overlooking the beautiful Vinh Hy Bay,  Amanoi (which means ’peaceful place’) is just that - an oasis of tranquillity. This luxury resort is comprised of 13 pavilions, 2 spa houses, 16 villas, and 5 residences, all offering complete privacy and serenity. In the lakeside Aman Spa, you can treat yourself to a range of massages and treatments created with traditional Vietnamese ingredients, such as aromatic herbs, rice, and coffee. Down at the resort’s beach club, located on a beautiful, private, white-sand beach, you can be as active or inactive as the mood takes you.

Amansara

Amansara – meaning ‘heavenly peace’ is located in Siem Reap, the cultural heartland of the ancient Khmer civilization. Located in the French quarter, it is the perfect base for exploring the mystical temple complex better known as Angkor Wat. Amansara began as the guest villa of King Norodom Sihanouk and has been re-incarnated into an intimate 12-suite resort, set in a private garden compound. The 12 suites, similar in design, feature an open plan setting with finishes in terrazzo and timber. Colours are muted and earthy.

Amantaka

The name Amantaka is derived from the Sanskrit word Aman meaning "peace" and the word taka, meaning "teacher of the Buddha". This graceful, French colonial building, set in a beautiful garden estate, is situated in the UNESCO protected town of Luang Prabang. It began life as a hospital and has since been lovingly restored and renovated, retaining its old world charm and adding modern day conveniences. Sitting at the foot of the sacred Mount Phousi, surrounded by golden spired wats, the setting is ‘picture perfect’ and a sense of peace pervades the entire complex. The mighty Mekong River, the former Royal Palace and the fabled night market are only a short stroll away. Amantaka has 24 elegant suites with a mix of private courtyards, spacious living areas, private pools, spacious verandas, and wonderful high ceilings from by-gone days. A luxurious landmark and one not to be missed.
