Let me introduce Rocky Mountaineer’ beautiful luxury train – Canyon Spirit. Previously operating under the Rocky Mountaineer brand since 2021, this new identity reflects the company's commitment to providing memorable train journeys through the American Southwest's most beautiful landscapes which include rugged river canyons, red rock formations and the Colorado River.
The new three-day Rockies to the Red Rocks Extension journey will begin operating on 21 April, 2026. It will travel once a week with one westbound departure from Denver and one eastbound departure from Salt Lake City. The three-day rail journey will include overnight hotel accommodation in Glenwood Springs and Moab.
Stops will be made at Glenwood Springs, Colo., and Moab, Utah, giving guests an opportunity to explore these picturesque communities. The Salt Lake City route will operate in addition to the existing 2 day 'Rockies to the Red Rocks' route, between Denver and Moab. The additional day of train travel will cross the mountain passes of eastern Utah and the open vistas of the Great Basin, while connecting to the urban hub of Salt Lake City.
