Jo is amazing!

As an older person who is not so confident organising my own travel these days, I leave it to Jo. Apart from being competent, knowledgeable and helpful, Jo is wonderful to deal with on a personal level. I feel confident “leaving it to Jo”.

Jo Gonzalez helped me organise flights with Qatar and a Doha stopover and transfer. It sounds simple but we came unstuck with the Discover Qatar hotel stopover deals. Their website was confusing for the Boutique Hotels by Tivoli. I ended up in a hotel at Souq Al Wahkra (about 25 mins out of the city on the corniche and not far from the airport) and not near the Souq Wakif (markets) downtown. To explain more fully this hotel group have hotels in old town style buildings near the markets. Their blanket description indicates that the hotel booked was also downtown. We were not assisted by the Doha agent and were directed back to the Discover Qatar airline site. They had ridiculous rules for changes ie approx $40 amendment fee and within 6 days of arrival no changes allowed and it meant full loss of payment!! There was a time delay from when our change was sent to them and when they responded placing me in the no changes period! I decided that I would go with the original booking. The hotel was of a high standard but the whole area was devoid of tourists as the marketplace is very new and not operational yet. This whole process was time consuming and frustrating for Jo and she went out of her way to help. I would recommend Jo without any hesitation. Footnote On arrival in Doha I met up with a friend who is a Sydney travel agent and was travelling with a group on their return from Morocco. She had been caught by this same issue and had had to rebook 3 of her clients and was caught with amendment fees which she felt couldn't be passed on to the clients. Beware when booking Discover Qatar Stopovers. Jo also booked an airport transfer for me on arrival. This was done directly with the hotel. The service was good but it cost QAR100 and on my return to the airport I booked Uber and it only cost QAR22! I felt comfortable using Uber taxis while travelling alone in Doha.

We travelled from Sydney to Venice, Florence, Rome, Amalfi Coast, Sicily, Malta, Gozo and then Dubai in 44 days and had the best adventure that we will never forget. I was very pleased to engage Jo to book our flights to London, Iceland, Copenhagen, Italy and Malta. It was the trip of a lifetime for me, never having been to Europe before. My memories and experiences will be with me for the rest of my life. If I am ever lucky enough to re visit Europe again I will definitely engage Jo to do the bookings for me. She is extremely helpful and has a lovely friendly manner. I felt I was in very capable experienced hands.

Jo was fantastic (once again) helping this novice traveler organise a weekend trip to beautiful Wellington NZ for a dear friends wedding. She promptly booked everything for me and patiently answered all of my questions (I alwaus have so many!) Jo has organised three Princess cruises for us as well as car bookings, flights, hotels, Indian Pacific rail bookings for holidays in Australia and overseas. It was all extremely efficient and smoothly done. Everything went without a hitch. We are very pleased to have found Jo who couldn't be more helpful.
