Cruising On-board Celebrity Solstice

In April 2016, my family and I (there were 11 of us) embarked on an 8 night cruise of the South Pacific on board the beautiful Celebrity Solstice.  This was the first time we had cruised with Celebrity and we were all very impressed. Walking into the Atrium, you feel like you are in the lobby of a grand Hotel. The glass elevators in the heart of the ship from deck 3 right up to deck 14 offer a great vantage point.

Our cabin was on Deck 9 Aft (cabin 9209/ Port side) and at a great location with close proximity to the lifts and easy access to bars and restaurants. The Queen bed and spacious lounge fit very comfortably, and it did not feel crowded. I was impressed with the size of the balcony and the bathroom, the shower was in the corner and enclosed with sliding doors so there was no problem with water puddles. There were lots of areas to store toiletries and good quality amenities are provided, Shampoo, conditioner, soap and body lotion.

My Cabin steward was attentive and nothing was too much trouble. I did ask for a sewing kit to mend my dress and extra towels a couple of times. The design of the ship is done in a way that it never felt crowded (apart from when the duty free shops on board were having their bracelet and jewellery sale) There was never long queues at the restaurants and bars, and the staff on board are always making sure you are being looked after.

There are so many bars and lounges, with entertainment provided, there is never a dull moment. Some of the activities we participated and attended were, trivia, bingo, and karaoke, dancing class, glass blowing show, comedy acts, cooking shows and even a tour of the Galley.

The food provided in the restaurants is wonderful. It always amazes me that such good quality can be provided when catering to almost 3000 people. We also tried the specialty restaurants which charge a fee. Murano, Tuscan Grill and Silk Harvest. Our dinner at Murano was an event, having our lobster prepared table side was spectacular and it was delicious.

Overall, we all had a wonderful time on the Celebrity Solstice and look forward to Cruising with Celebrity again.
