Want a White Christmas?
If you live in Australia or New Zealand your chances of a white Christmas are pretty much zero. I have a few clients and friends who love snow but dont like skiing - yes they do exist!
Having never had a white Christmas I decided to head to Whistler, Canada a few years ago. You can base yourself in Vancouver and then drive to Whistler for a couple of days of R and R. The car trip alone from Vancouver to Whistler was stunning, tonnes and tonnes of the white stuff! We booked a ski in ski out chalet and had a few glorious days on the slopes. On Christmas day we threw off the skis, snowboards and gloves and soaked up the Whistler village atmosphere.
There is plenty to do if you don't want to ski. Soak in an outdoor spa with a glass of bubbles, take a snow mobile trip on the mountain or just ride the cable car up and down. Indulge in the many cafes and restaurant, get pampered in a beauty salon or venture out for a days shopping in the boutique shops. At night the Apre ski comes alive with lots of great restaurants with inticing fireplaces and live music.
