Canada 2014

Canada has always been on my wish list and in October 14, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to visit. The sheer beauty of the country exceeded my expectations in every way possible. From the emerald coloured lakes surrounded by snow-capped mountains to the rivers surrounded by wildlife and colourful trees, the scenery was spectacular.

Our trip experienced Canada at just the right time, it was cold enough to snow in Banff and Lake Louise, but not so cold you couldn’t enjoy the outdoors. We arrived in Calgary excite but weary, a Brewster’s coach meet us and took us to our overnight hotel. The next morning off to Banff via coach along the way we stopped off and some took a helicopter ride over the mountains - WOW! On arrival into Banff, I was amazed by its size and beauty. This is definitely on my favourite places in the world list. The next day we travelled out to Emerald Lake followed by Lake Louise. It is just like the pictures you see in the brochures - breathtaking!

The best part of the trip was travelling through the Rockies on the Rocky Mountaineer from Banff to Vancouver. We travelled in Gold Leaf which was simply beautiful. With Domed carriages for spectacular viewing to full table service meals, simply amazing! Vancouver at the end of the Rocky Mountaineer simply topped the whole trip off. Such an easy relaxed city, friendly and vibrant so much to see and do, 2 days was not enough. Simply Spectacular!
