Pacific Dawn Ship Inspection

Pacific Dawn cruises from Brisbane just about every Saturday and I was lucky enough to take part in a travel agent inspection while she was in port.

I was pleasantly surprised by the amenities onboard - I hadn't been on a P&O cruise ship since I sailed on the Fairstar over 20 years ago! My memories from back then were of a budget, tired cruise ship. Pacific Dawn is definitely an older ship and while some parts do look a little tired - overall it certainly offers everything you would want in a cruise holiday without spending a fortune!

Firstly, we inspected the cabins. We were able to see an inside cabin, ocean view cabin, balcony cabin, minisuite and suite as well as some of their wheelchair friendly cabins. As with most cruise ships, the bathrooms were small but functional and the bedding configuration could be changed from twin to queen plus options for triple and quad share.

We then got to visit just about every public space on the ship - including the restaurants, bars, casino, theatre, kids' clubs, spa, gym, pool, sun decks and shopping arcade - like I said, this cruise ship offers just about everything you could want or need!

Finally we were treated to lunch in the Waterfront Restaurant. I had the Mushroom and Green Asparagus Risotto, followed by the Pan-roasted Crispy Skin Petuna Ocean Trout and finished with the Cookies'n'Cream Cheesecake. It was all really delicious! We also got to see all the menus - breakfast, lunch & dinner - and you are spoiled for choice with plenty of great options to choose from.

I will upload photos to my Facebook page so check it out for lots of images. And don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions at all about the ship or if you want to book a cruise!
