Oceania Marina Ship Inspection

Oceania Marina was in Brisbane en route to Tahiti and South America and I was invited on board for a ship inspection and cocktails/canapés while she was in port.

The Marina is I think the perfect size - not too big and not too small - she can take up to 1250 guests and has a staff to guest ratio of 1.5:1. She definitely has a Country Club feel - elegant without being overly stuffy - and they are very proud of the fact that there are no formal nights so no need to don a suit or ball gown for dinner.

They also boast the highest spend per head on food for guests of any cruise ship in the world so you know that the cuisine on board is going to be top notch. A unique feature of the Marina is the Culinary Centre which is the only hand on cooking school at sea featuring up to 3 classes per day and immensely popular with guests so it is almost always full. Most of the specialty restaurants have no surcharge - only Privée which is a private dining room for up to 10 guests and La Reserve which hosts gourmet dinners with wine pairings have a surcharge.

You will find inside staterooms, ocean view staterooms, veranda staterooms and suites on board. All include a minibar with free and unlimited soft drinks and water, complimentary 24 hour room service and Bulgari amenities.

There are some wonderful itineraries coming up as she heads back to Europe including Tahiti, South America, USA and Canada. Let me know if you would like any more information. I have added lots of photos to my Facebook page so you can head over there and take a look.
