New 5 star hotel in Florence
There’s a new kid on the block in Florence - IL Tornabuoni, due to open early 2021. Positioned on the top floors of two Renaissance palaces, Palazzo Minerbetti and Palazzo Strozzi del Poeta, the hotel is located in the very heart of the city in Via de’ Tornabuoni – Florence’s main and exclusive shopping street.
Guests have 12 room and suite options to select from, ranging from the 20-square-metre Classic Room to the larger 42-square-metre suite, through to the 55-square-metre Tornabuoni suite which can accommodate up to four guests and features a terrace with a Jacuzzi.
Each level of the hotel has been decked out with a distinct regal colour including vibrant teals, blues, yellows, vermilion and grey. Most rooms and suites will offer two double beds, a rare find in hotels in Italy and indeed most of Europe.
The new Florence hotel will feature a champagne bar, dubbed La Cave, offering a selection of Girolami’s hand-selected collection of bubbles from Italy and France. The primary restaurant will be IL Magnifico Bistro and Cafe on the ground floor and La Terrazza on the fourth floor, offering panoramic views of Santa Maria Novella, San Frediano and the Oignissanti Church. The hotel will also include an intimate gastronomic restaurant, Lucie and The Butterfly Terrace on the rooftop offering signature cocktails.
