Crystal river ships have a new home
Crystal beautiful European river ships have finally found a new home with Riverside Luxury Cruises.
The German hotelier family (the Gerlach Group), has acquired the other four ships. Riverside made its first purchase in October 2022 of Crystal Mozart and that left everyone wondering what would happen to the others.
Ravel, Debussy, Mahler, and Bach began cruising under the Crystal flag in 2017 and 2018; at the time, they were considered the most luxurious ships on the European waterways. Now they will cruise under a different flag.
Riverside will commence its first operations in April 2023, with inaugural voyages on Riverside Mozart, Riverside Ravel and Riverside Debussy. Sister ships Riverside Bach and Riverside Mahler will return to the rivers in 2024. Mozart will cruise on the Danube, while Ravel itineraries include the Rhone and Saone, and Debussy the Rhine.
Riverside has promised they will live up to their former reputation in terms of offering personalised service, excellent cuisine and luxurious accommodation and will very quickly regain their #1 place on the European rivers.
Hopefully, Riverside will look to Australia soon and establish an office here.
